A cyclist on a delivery bicycle with a pot cradled over the back wheel. The most narrative piece in the range, and one of the few with a job to do.
The rider is drawn rather than assembled - flowing lengths of steel bar shaped into a slim figure leaning into the handlebars, flat-brimmed hat set on the head, one leg down to the pedal. The bicycle is bent rod: two spoked wheels, triangular frame, saddle, pedals, all forge-shaped and welded by hand. The rear carrier is a ring-and-strut cradle that holds a terracotta pot properly, and the whole thing stands on flat welded feet rather than balancing on the rims.
Left unpainted, so the surface carries the warm rust-brown patina the steel arrived with. Every one weathers differently.
25 × 13 × 25cm.
Good for a small herb, succulent or trailing plant. Works on a kitchen worktop, windowsill or conservatory shelf, and comes into its own outdoors against a sunlit wall - the openwork frame throws a better shadow than the piece itself.
Pot and plant not included.
